If you find black oil when you put the stick out, there may be the possibility of high oil consumption and the car would not be well maintained that will create problem in your engine in the future.

There may be the possibility of leaks but you may not be aware how to check the leaks. You should check underneath the car for leaks. The down parts of the engine must be dry. If it is not dry, then give a closer look at there and figure out whether oil is dropping down or the water. If you find oil in the parking place, then be sure that the car will create problem in the future.

3.    Check the internal part through the oil filter neck- The neck of the oil filter explains about a car far better than a mechanic. If you find the internal part is dirty, then you can say that the engine is not well repaired and maintained which helps you to make decision.

4.    Check the smoke- If your car is giving large amount of smoke that symbolized the problematic situation of the engine. If you don’t find any smoke when the car is started, that car is best for you. But if you find blue, black, white or any smoke when you start the car, that will be the signal of defective engine that may create problem later.
