'Fuse' is a small but an important part of a car. Fuse is a small component of a car which is designed in such a way that it does not create a big crisis when it fuses or "blows out", but it makes some part on the vehicle no longer work.
If a fuse blows, then the parts like interior lights, CD player, car turn indicators may stop functioning.
Fuses safeguards each and every electrical devices in the car. During a power surge, a car fuse "blows up" so that the surplus electricity does not reach the device.
There are few simple steps to be followed in order to replace a fuse. Firstly, turn off the car. Then look under the car's dashboard in order to locate fuse box. It's normally a tiny rectangular or square plastic box. The fuse box can be opened without any tools. After opening the fuse box, remove the cover from the fuse box. The cover must comprise of a plastic cover depicting what each fuse controls, or there may be a chart giving information or guidelines. Then try to find the blown fuse. It will appear a little blackened and much like the filament in a burned-out light-bulb. Hold the burnt-out fuse on either side with your forefinger and thumb, and take it out with a slight pinching motion. Then, take the fuse to a auto parts shop and replace it with an identical fuse. After getting an identical replacement, replace the fuse by placing it in the position from where you have removed the burnt-out.
Once you have replaced the fuse, do not forget to start the car and test the feature that had burnt-out – the interior lights, the fan, the headlights, for example.
