The renowned Chicago Auto Show

Chicago Auto Show is one of the most anticipated events of the year in the field of car manufacturing. It is held annually in February at McCormick Place convention complex of Chicago. With nearly 1000 vehicles on display at 1,300,000 sq ft, Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America as well as the third largest in the world.

Chicago Auto Show was first produced in 1901 and has been frequently organized than any other auto show in North America.

With over one million visitors each years, it continues to be one of the best-attended auto shows in the world. The year 2008 marked the 100th iteration of Chicago Auto Show and became the first auto show in the world to achieve this distinction.

The Chicago Auto Show features multiple world as well as North American introductions and the complete range of imported and domestic passenger cars, minivans, sport-utility vehicles, trucks, and experimental and concept cars. Additionally, it gives an opportunity to attendees to see the cars of yesterday, today and tomorrow with numerous accessories, competition vehicles and projects, auto-related exhibits, experimental/concept cars, as well as collector and antique cars.

The Chicago Auto Show 2011 was held from February 11 – February 20, 2011. In addition to a wide array of the latest production cars, it featured various notable world debuts. Many auto makers showed off their latest models and concept vehicles in Chicago Auto Show 2011. In total, it boasted nearly 1000 different vehicles including sport cars and concept cars. The newest models that were exhibited at Chicago Auto Show 2011 included 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Hyundai Velostar RallyCross Car, Dodge Durango R/T, Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec, Hyundai Genesis V8, Dodge Caravan R/T, Acura TL, etc.

This year, much of the floor was taken by four different test tracks by Toyota, Jeep, Chavy and Ford. The Volt was one of many electric and hybrid vehicles on the display this year. Lexus debuted their sportier hybrid CT 200h whereas Ford showed the hybrid edition of its new Focus. Chevy and Dodge showcased their retro-inspired high horsepower sport cars.

Thus, Chicago Auto Show provides a best platform to the existing as well as new auto makers to exhibit their latest designs and models to the people.
