The Geneva Motor Show is an annual auto show held in the Swiss city of Geneva. The show is hosted at a convention center called, Geneva Palexpo, located near Geneva Cointrin International Airport. Geneva Motor Show is the most exciting auto show of the year, as each major motor manufacturer displays its future cars and plans.
The first Geneva Motor Show was held in 1905, which hosted almost all major models in the history of automobiles. The Geneva Motor Show is considered as a level playing field for the automakers of the world.
The strengths of Geneva Motor Show have always been representativeness, neutrality and annuality. It explains quality as well as quantity of the worldwide premieres, presented each year by greatest manufacturers.
In March 2011, thousands of motoring journalists and motor-industry executives descended on the most livable city of Geneva for the motor show, held in the city that is more famous for watches than wheel spin. The 81st Geneva Motor Show, held between 3rd to 13th March 2011, opened with a piping hot new cars to draw visitors to the floor. In this show, all of the exhibitors expressed a high level of satisfaction as it seems to have marked the end of automobile crisis.
People showed a particular interest in many vehicles containing means of propulsion and alternative technologies. Never before have so many new models been presented in this year's Geneva Motor Show. As widely predicted, Tata Motors launched a new concept car designed for the European market at this show. Many production cars as well as concept cars are presented at this show where production cars included Lamborghini Aventador, Pagani Huayra, Alpina B5 BiTurbo Touring, Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, Koenigsegg Agera R and concept cars included Volkswagen Bulli, Saab PhoeniX, Toyota FT-86 II, Volkswagen Giugiaro Go, Mitsubishi Global Small, and Wiesmann Spyder, etc.
Thus, Geneva Motor Show gives an opportunity to suppliers and manufacturers of motor car equipment and products to participate as exhibitors where they can exhibit their products with a direct face to face contact with the visitors.
