Efficient Stereo Power System

The headlights of your car go dim when you put on the stereo as there is more load on the electrical system of your car. Sometimes, even the modestly powered systems can over stress the electrical system of your car.

A sudden sub amp’s burst is the indication of improper stereo system in car. This can occur for a multiple and a large kilo watt systems and can produce a sound of beat. You can notice this change more prominently by observing the lights then hearing the change in the noise, as our eyes are more sensitive to changes than our ears.

These issues can be solved by following few steps –

  • Check all the ground and power connections and the battery: The surface connections and power cables must be checked for loose contact. Clean the connectors and fasten them tight. Perform a battery load test to check the battery issues, which can be done at the battery store. Most of them do the check up free of cost and often addresses the issues with the battery.
  • Capacitors: The systems power capacity does not increase by adding a capacitor but, it cures the power fluctuations, especially when the lights go dim during the loud drum beats. It smoothens out the power demands by providing a burst of energy whenever needed.
  • Three wired upgrade: This will improve the electrical system and allow more current flow ensuring more consistent and the varying voltage. This will help the amplifier to suck the juice in a better way from the bigger straw.
  • Output alternator: When the engine starts, the alternator takes control over the motor and if the sound system demands more power than the stock alternator supplies the required excess power.
